Inglewood is Calgary’s oldest neighbourhood. Established in 1875, the community was founded by Major John Stewart, Acheson Irvine and James Macleod, who were instrumental in the development of 9 Ave. S.E. (formerly named Atlantic Avenue), which became the city of Calgary’s first authentic main street.
Today, Inglewood has a vibrant arts culture district with more than 100 shops, boutiques and eateries which attracting locals and tourists alike.
Within short walking distance of the community is the Calgary Zoo, Inglewood Wildlands Park, , Bow Habitat Station, Inglewood Bird Sanctuary and the Sam Livingston Fish Hatchery.
